Put forward as an alternative to the Jobs Act, the Workers Act was presented at the CGIL headquarters head office at Modena. The Sbilanciamoci! network, an array of 51 associations and Catholic, Ecological, and leftwing NGOs promoted the policy alternative that was put together by economists, legal experts, researchers and university professors. The starting point was “workers needs” and it puts forward a different social and economic development model that looks to restore workers rights.
Every year since 2000, the Sbilanciamoci! network, which gathers together a total of 51 associations including Arci, l’Associazione Finanza Etica, Emmaus Italia and the WWF, presents a report complete with analysis and initiatives that presents a widely received alternative to the Finance law. The content of the Workers Act that both criticizes the Jobs Act and also proposes an alternative was coordinated by economists Claudio Gnesutt from the University of Rome and Mario Pianta from Urbino...
