The new Italian Prime Minister, Romano Prodi, presented, on May 17th, the composition of a pro-european government including besides six party leaders, two former unionists. The former president of the European Commission renewed, on May 19th, his promise to cut in of 5 points the social security contributions from his mandate's first year. (Ref. 06502)
