Single CCN. On October 9, Alleanza Lavoro signed with Assolavoro (Confindustria) and the Nidil CGIL, Alai Cisl and Uil CPO unions an agreement “restoring conventional unity” in the temporary work sector. They defined the CCN enforced on July 24, 2008 (see our dispatch No. 080500) as the only collective agreement for the sector. It will be applied to all Alleanza Lavoro member agencies as of January 1, 2010. This employers’ organization was created last year from eight agencies which left Assolavoro after a disagreement on job stabilization measures contained in that same CCN. However, the complexity of the crisis and the need to revive the sector convinced Alleanza Lavoro to change its mind. Chairman Antonio Lombardi explained that the purpose of this agreement was to “meet workers and businesses’ demands unequivocally” and added that “any division might worsen the employment crisis in the sector.” Assolavoro chair Gennaro delli Santi Cimaglia pointed to the constructive dialog which led to recovered unity, reminding that Assolavoro is “the Italian representative of Eurociett, the only European association in the sector” and that it was “born to gather and represent the sector’s interests.”
