Service industry unions are abuzz with activity. This week in the tourism sector unions continue with strike action across the territories demanding that their long expired (two years ago) national collective agreement be renewed. In the retail sector unions are calling for two days of national strike action in November and December in reaction to the fact that negotiations started two years ago are still stuck in the quagmire.
The service sector promises to be a hot topic this autumn; or so says the Fisascat-Cisl union given the state of current negotiations over renewing national collective agreements across various sectors that will affect more than 2.5 million workers.
