Italy: unitary agreement for the renewal of the national collective agreement in craft metal businesses

After 16 hours of nonstop negotiations, the different units of the different employers’ organizations in craftsmanship and SMEs (Confartigianato, CNA, Casartigiani and CLAI) and the Fim-Cisl, Fiom-CGIL and Uilm-Uil unions signed a unitary agreement at dawn on June 16th – 18 months after the previous CCNs expired.  This agreement is “extremely important” because, on the one hand, it melts the CCNs of craft metal, blacksmith and dental labs down into one and, on the other, because the agreement was signed by all.  Signed for three years in this “transition phase,” the CCN will expire on December 31, 2012.  Here are the key elements.
