New unitary agreement. In spite of three different claim platforms, the Asstel employers’ association and the Fistel-Cisl, SLC-CGIL and Uilcom-Uil unions concluded, on October 23, a unitary agreement for the renewal of the telecommunications’ national collective agreement, which ended on December 31, 2008. This is the second unitary agreement found, after the food industry (see our dispatch No. 090866). Affecting over 160,000 employees, the new collective contract will last for three years (January 1, 2009 until December 31, 2011) and will be ratified by the workers.
