Under the banner ‘All out’, the Filcams-CGIL, Fisascat-Cisl, and Uiltucs-Uil unions have called on workers in those companies belonging to the employers’ associations; Federdistribuzione, Confesercenti, and Distribuzione Cooperativa to go out on strike on Saturday 07 November. The unions expect widespread support for this strike action the goal of which is to drive negotiations over a national sector collective agreement towards a conclusion after two years of unfruitful efforts.The agreement would affect almost 300,000 workers in the sector.
This Saturday’s (07 November) eight hour strike is the starting gun for Filcams, Fisascat, and the Uiltucs unions to embark on a ‘long battle’, and should employers fail to respond to this strike then another similar strike will be held on 19 December.
