The Lithuanian institutions of inspection launched several actions in order to fight against the practice of the "envelopes", i.e. dissimulation of part of the wages. The first devices set up at the beginning of June already get some results. (Ref. 06810)

According to State tax inspectorate (VMI), employees in Lithuania are becoming more aware and intolerant of illegal wages, which are still widely distributed “in envelopes”. An action “Say no to envelopes” started last June 5 and a confidential phone number has been introduced. Since then, more than 620 reports were registered.
