Lithuania: plans to make old-age pension more dependent on length of employment

Lithuanian Ministry of Social Security and Labour presented a draft bill which aims at making old-age pension more dependent on individual’s length of employment. (Ref. 070116)

Basic pension in Lithuania now constitutes 266 litas (77 euros). If Lithuania’s Parliament approves the draft bill, pensioners will get 5,30 litas (1,53 euros) per month extra pension for every additional year at work. Amendment to the law is to come into effect on 1^st of July. This may concern about 400 thousands pensioners around the country.
