The first German airline company, Lufthansa, reached an agreement, with its pilots, on a wage rise in two times, the reduction of the variable salary and the introduction of more flexibility in the flight plans organisation. (Ref. 06576)

The negociators followed the proposals made by the mediator they appointed, Dr. Klaus von Dohnanyi, former minister and mayor of Hambourg. The wage agreement, concluded last week, affect 4000 pilots from the company and its freight subsidiary, Lufthansa Cargo AG. It plans for a wage increase in two times : a first increase of 2,5 % from 1 July 2006 and the second starting 1 March 2007, of 1,5 %.
