The social partners in the Luxembourg construction industry are finally out of the deadlock their collective agreement was in. the approximately 14,000 construction workers didn’t have a collective agreement for three years. In spite of two mediation procedures, the social partners (OGBL and LCGB for employees and the Federation of Construction and Engineering Firms and the Group of Construction and Public Works Entrepreneurs for employers) were fighting over pay and working time. The renewal of the collective labor agreement for construction and engineering employees was signed early in the evening of July 10. The social partners validated in on July 11. The memorandum of understanding only covers pay, even though employers wanted to add flexible working time measures (notably increasing the work week to 52 hours).
