On April 5, the House of Commons carried a legislation which is transposing the “Working time” Directive in the legislation of Luxembourg. The introduction by the European Commission of an action for failure against Luxembourg speeded up the parliamentary work. The law introduces new concepts and supplements the old provisions. Among the new elements are emerging the concept of night period and the definition of the night work. Until now, the legislation of Luxembourg had only been protecting some workers groups without establishing a document with a general scope. However, the new law does not modify the working conditions of the workers of the sector Accommodation and Food services.
