The "Labour issues" parliamentary Commission from the Deputies Chamber adopted the bill transposing the EU Directive 2002/15 (March 12, 2002) concerning the working time of people performing mobile activities in road transport. The text now has to follow its adoption process. The OGB-L union now wants negotiations on the renewal of the sector's collective conventions to start up. (Ref. 070234)
“The bill plans a one-month referral period during which working time must not surpass 48 hours a week in average”, declared the union OGBL-ACAL which is also “satisfied by the modalities to control the future law’s enforcement”. It will be guaranteed by the Labour Inspectorate, the grand ducal Police and the customs and excise taxes administration, “which has a very in-depth knowledge in terms of road controls for trucks and buses”.
