On 5 February, president Andrés Manuel López Obrador proposed that the adjustment of minimum wage increases should be a constitutional provision. This measure was announced as part of a series of reforms aimed at “establishing constitutional rights and strengthening the ideals and principles linked to humanism, justice, honesty, austerity and democracy”. The left-wing president’s intention is to “under no circumstances allow the minimum wage to rise by less than annual inflation”....
