In August, collectives of digital platform workers in Mexico presented a manifesto to the country's labour ministry in a bid to have their labour and social protection rights recognised. The government is preparing to table a reform in congress during the first half of next year.
The Mexican government is drafting a labour law reform bill to include a special chapter dedicated to workers on digital platforms. This reform would take into consideration the manifesto proposed by digital platform workers’ groups, which includes the following points:
