On 4 December, the National Minimum Wage Commission, made up of the government, trade unions and employers’ federations, decided to increase the minimum wage by 12% from 1 January 2025. It will thus rise from 249 to 279 pesos per day (around €18) for 8.5 million employees. If inflation remains stable (4.75%), the increase in real terms will reach 7%.
