Approved unanimously by Mexican deputies on 25 February, the reform introducing a 40-hour working week has been published in the Official Gazette. The new working hours will be implemented progressively between 2027 and 2030.
The constitutional reform, which gradually reduces the statutory weekly working time from 48 to 40 hours without any reduction in salary, was published in the Mexican Official Gazette on Tuesday 3 March. It had previously received unanimous approval from the lower house on 25 February, following the green light from the Senate two weeks earlier.
