The Christian democrats (members of the coalition in power) and the Groenlinks green party (opposition) presented, on December 3rd, an initiative to achieve a law on flexible working time (Wet Flexibel Werk, WFW). Eddy van Hijum, MP for the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) and Ineke van Gent, MP for Groenlinks, opened a debate at the National Assembly on a bill to change mindsets regarding working time and attendance. “The culture of the 9-to-5 work day has many drawbacks, and parents who work often go through hell” explained Ineke van Gent.
