Following the reinforcement of its checks last year, Dutch factory inspectorates noticed that 1 company out of 5 in the cleaning sector resorted to illegal workers, that is to say 18 % of the branch. (Ref. 06434)
The infringements relate to the use of foreigners without a work permit or under a false identity or with fake papers. The hotel branch and leisure parks are the more affected (22 % of infringements), followed by the sector of fast-food (16 %). Generally, most infringements are made by SME (between 50 and 200 employees). Since last year, Dutch law has reinforced its provisions on the matter and sets a fine of 8000 Euros by infringement.
