A Haarlem court prohibited the strike planned for the following day by the airline pilots of the Transavia low-cost airline, because it judged that the consequences would be disproportionate. The protest movement, due to the tough wage negotiations, which started in January as part of the bargaining for the new collective agreement, would have led to the cancellation or delay of the flights of 10.000-24.000 passengers. Faced with the ultimatum presented by the pilots – a rather unusual method in a country mostly inclined to talk – the judge was more sensitive to the arguments put forward by Transvia’s management.
