The worse heat wave since 1976 prompted the Federation of Dutch trade unions (FNV) -the main federation of the country- to inform workers on their rights when it is hot. The person in charge of health issues at the FNV said he was shocked by the number of calls received from employees suffering from the heat (see article n°06729).
