A court of appeal in Amsterdam judged, on April 11, 2007, that it devolves upon the employer to check their employees’ working conditions when they work from home. This verdict comes in whereas the main managerial organization is inciting employers to appeal to home working, notably in order to make traffic lighter. (Ref. 070334)
An employee from the pension funds for social workers and health personnel (PGGM,) employed via a temporary contract which started in March 1998, worked two days a week at home, on a computer lend by the employer. She used an old wooden door as a desk, and a kitchen chair as a working chair. After two months, she experienced nervous problems in both arms, a pain she is still suffering from today.
