g retirement age from 65 to 66 in 2020 and then to 67 in 2025 – received the support of a majority of MPs on September 16th, with the help of the labor party, the traditional ally of the National Federation of Netherlands Unions (FNV). Because of the compromises the government made as regards work hardness in construction, the union organization accepted the reform, on the night of September 19th, but its largest members (Abvakabo and FNV Bondgenoten) still reject it.
