Big changes are in sight for salaries in Netherlands’ para-public sector. The Parliament wishes to set a money ceiling for certain functions. (Ref.0677)
Last year, it appeared that 15 managers from the biggest public housing companies earned more than 200 000 euros a year. Thus, in this highly developed sector, a manager earns more than the Prime minister (130 000 euros), said Sybilla Dekker, the minister of Housing. Last October 11th, a motion was passed by Parliament, asking the government to set a ceiling for the highest salaries in the para-public sector. This sector includes public housing companies, hospitals and retirement homes.
