of the De Unie union – together with the International Association of Temporary Work Agencies (VIA) caused an outcry. The main parties in power, the Labor Party (PVDA) and the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) asked Piet Hein Donner, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, to forbid this collective agreement, to prevent unfair competition from foreign workers, especially Polish workers.
