Netherlands: unions to ask for wage increases up to 2% in 2010

On November 13, national statistics announced the end of the recession, with a 0.4% growth in the third 2009 quarter. Three days later, the Federation of Dutch Unions (FNV) announced that it would ask for wage increases between 1.25% and 2% in 2010. The trade union, which is about to negotiate about 500 collective agreements for 2010, still complies with the principle of wage moderation requested by the government last year until 2012, so the crisis will really be gone.
