Italy/ Fresh strike action for the leather-footwear sector. The Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil unions have announced an eight-hour general strike for 05 May in a call for the sector national collective agreement, which expired on 31 March 2016, to be renewed, affecting some 80,000 workers and 5,800 companies. Negotiations are currently suspended with the unions calling demands by Assocalzaturifici – Confindustriaas ‘unacceptable’, and ‘reducing workers rights as being out of the quest
