Belgium: law adopted to more strictly govern salary increases

On the evening of Thursday 9 March, the Belgian Chamber of Representatives definitively adopted a reform to the 1996 law on business competitiveness. The law sets a range for maximum salary increases, which are then subject to negotiations with social partners, while allowing wages to remain competitive in comparison with neighbouring countries France, Germany and the Netherlands.
