Negotiations in the oil sector have been brought to a close with the help of mediation. It is a difficult period for the industry and this can be seen in both the discussions which took place and their outcome. The agreement applies to employees working on floating offshore facilities (riggoppgjoret) and those working at platforms on the continental shelf (sokkelavtalen), as operators or in the areas of exploration and restoration.
A ‘responsible’ agreement. An agreement was finally reached 22 June 2016 between the following parties: SAFE, a Norwegian union for energy workers; Industri Energi, a union for workers in the energy and industry sectors; DSO, the shipping agents union; and the employers’ organisation Norges Rederiforbund, the Norwegian ship-owners’ association.
