Peru: bill seeks to raise retirement age to 75

On 18 January, the Peruvian congress approved a bill to raise the retirement age from 70 to 75 at the request of the employee. The bill stipulates that this request must be made before the employee reaches the age of 70 and “provided that a specialised and multidisciplinary medical assessment, carried out by the employer, certifies that the worker is in good physical and mental condition to carry out their duties”.
