Management of Mittal Steel Poland informed that it had obtained the postponing of the deadline for the reduction of manpower within the Polish subsidiary companies of the group, required by the European Commission. The process will continue in 2007 and will concern affect 7000 employees. (Ref. 070086)
The reduction of enrollment to 10 400 employees by the end of 2006 was one of the conditions set by the European Commission during the privatization of the Polish steel-works in 2004.
