Poland’s labour ministry on 14 August launched a pilot scheme to test shorter working hours, allowing companies to trial either a four-day week or reduced daily hours. Employers selected for the programme will receive state financial support to help implement the new work arrangements.

Entitled ‘Reduced working hours – it’s on!‘, the pilot scheme to cut working hours was launched on 14 August 2025 by the Polish labour ministry. This initiative, due to end on 15 May 2027, aims to explore and promote different types of organisation: a four-day week, shorter daily working hours (seven-hour days, early finishes on Fridays, etc.) or additional days off.
