Employees who are also caregivers will now benefit from 5 days of paid leave provided by the State, the right to telework, as well as guarantees against dismissal, inequality or discrimination. The system is further complemented by the availability of 15 days of unpaid leave of absence. ANCI, the association of caregivers representatives considers these measures to be overwhelmingly insufficient.
On 21 October 2021 and as part of the government’s ‘Agenda for dignified work’ (c.f. article No.12758) the Council of Ministers approved broader rights for employees who are also caregivers.
