Employees at EDP’s call centers are observing a 48-hour strike in a claim for their full integration into electricity supplier. EDP’s call service is subcontracted to two companies in Lisbon. Workers under the outsourcing employment contract want to be fully integrated into EDP. Workers are answering a call to strike by SIESI - (Electrotechnical Industry Workers´ Union for Southern Portugal, Azor Islands and Madeira). Although limited in size this mobilization is symbolic coming as it does in one of Portugal’s important economic sectors.
