Portugal: law promoting equal pay for men and women set to come into force
The law proposed by the government, which was approved by the country’s national assembly and published in its official journal in August, covers three key aspects: raising awareness of the issue both within companies and among the general public, requiring bosses to introduce a transparent policy on the matter, and bolstering the role of the country’s labour inspectorate and the commission for workplace equality.
