While France Telecom, Deutsche Telekom and Telia/Sonera are still negociating global framework agreements, the Portugsese group of telecom signed a code of conduct about fundamental rights and corporate social responsability. (Ref. 06152)
The agreement was signed by the company management, the global union Uni et three Uni’s affiliates in Portugal (SINTTAV, STPT and SINDETELCO) last January 18. According to this code of conduct, Portugal Telecom commit itself to respect the main ILO conventions : child labour prohibtion, non-discrimination, rights of association and to collective bargaining, rights of workers’ representatives, compliance with the legal or agreed minimum wages, protection of the workers’s health and safety….
