Autoeuropa. This subsidiary of the Volkswagen group, located in Palmela (south of Lisbon) suspended its assembly plants since the beginning of November (400 jobs) and announced that it intended to repeat the measure by the end of 2008. In the meantime, the factory plans the end of 145 temporary work contracts (200 according to unions). This company is the largest in the country with a workforce of 3.000.
