The management and workers of the Autoeuropa de Palmela automotive assembly plant adopted a new company agreement which will be in force until the end of 2011. Renegotiated during the crisis, the new agreement bans the appeal to mass layoffs in the next two years. (Ref. 080990)
Previously negotiated
between the management of this Volkswagen
factory and the staff representatives, the agreement was adopted, after
a secret ballot, by 1.676 of the 3.058 workers of the factory. The workers’
commission – the structure which represents the staff – was satisfied with the
record 78% participation rate to this vote.
