Portugal: Ukrainian refugees to benefit from integration contracts

Portugal’s government is temporarily relaxing the allocation conditions for two integration contracts, so Ukrainian refugees will be able to benefit. The goal of this urgent measure is to facilitate the registration of the refugees at the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) and to guarantee them social protection. It applies to all applications, regardless of when they are submitted, starting from 01 April 2022.

At the end of February, the IEFP created a specific jobs platform to facilitate the professional occupational integration of Ukrainians fleeing the war in their country (c.f. article No.12934). However the labour market is struggling to absorb the refugee influx.
