Demonstration. After a May Day parade full of slogans against the intervention of the International Monetary Fund and of the European Central Bank, the CGTP (General Confederation of Portuguese Workers, close to the communist party) called for another mobilization on May 19th. Two processions will be organized, in Lisbon, the capital, and in Porto, the country’s second largest city. The union confederation particularly dreads the possible constitutional amendment that will be required to introduce the measures negotiated between the international institutions and the government.
