Prosegur: the company is temporarily suspended from an ILO program in Colombia

Prosegur is the world no 3 in the private security sector (manned guarding, cash in transit, technology & alarms). The company currently employs more than 155,000 across four continents (Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania). It is in the middle of a protracted dispute with national and international (UNI Global) union organizations over their accusations of company abuses of human, social, and union rights. At the end of November the ILO Office for the Andean countries decided to temporarily suspend its support for Prosegur in the context of one of its ILO programs. The ILO noted an absence of “ideal conditions to correctly apply the SCORE program, where the methodology is based on dialogue.” Nonetheless the organization took care to separate this decision from other complaints being leveled at the company.
