Fall at the latest.  Hardly enforced, the new Romanian Labor Code already needs to be changed.  Indeed, the European Commission, which carefully looked at the provisions contained in the new Romanian regulations in April and May, asked the liberal-democratic Emil Boc administration to rectify a few points of the new Code to comply with European standards.  These changes will be gradually introduced by the autumn.

Extending the period for getting extra hours back. First change: employees who performed over time may get them back (enjoy free paid hours) for 90 days. The new Labor Code already improved this period from 30 to 60 days but the Commission’s experts said it wasn’t enough.
