The first sectoral agreement signed in Romania since 2011 came into force on 27 November 2024 with its publication in the official gazette. Signed in May, it was extended by the government in October and will therefore be applied to all 46,000 employees of 30 banks operating in the country (while only 25,000 belong to banks that are members of the signatory employer organisations).
