After wage negotiations failed at Renault-Dacia's Pitesti site, unions declared, on March 24, an unlimited general strike to demand wage increases. As for the management, it disputed the lawfulness of the strike in court. (Ref. 080236)
Wage claims. The conflict mostly revolves around wages : strikers want a 74% increase, whereas the management offered 12% in average and 18% for minimum wage. In addition, employees demand between 5 and 10% of profit sharing and an increase of Christmas and Easter bonuses. The management said that these claims were “intolerable”.
