Romania: pilot project to help disabled people fit in the labor market

A target group of 300 people in Bucharest, Iasi and Arad is going to take part in a program divided in several steps: professional evaluation, development of an individual integration plan, training and integration on the labor market. The wider objective is to “improve existing tools for the professional evaluation of disabled people, improve the legal framework, provide a range of services to advise, supervise and train disabled people and integrate them onto the labor market, in protected or classical structures” the Department explained. All this will come with a big media campaign to change mindsets. This pioneer initiative shows that the policy on this subject is starting to change, rushed by the EU and supported by Community funding.
