Recruitment consultancy firm Antal presented the results of a 2015 study on salaries and the Russian labor market. The study included results from 5,000 respondents from different Russian towns and cities, a third of whom work in companies of more than 1,000 staff. Sections of the report cover job search (the choice of channels, the length of job searches, reasons for changing company), salary changes, bonuses and other advantages, and severance pay.
Growing pessimism. Latest official statistics (Rosstat) indicate that after a weak 0.6 % in 2014, Russian GDP fell 2.2% in the first quarter of 2015 and as a consequence employee anxiety is rising. A third more than in 2014 want to keep their current jobs and do not want to change careers (36% versus 27% previously). “Many are fearful of the risks associated with changing jobs given the current conditions,” comment the study’s authors.
