In a letter sent to the Sanofi-Aventis group, the general secretary of the European Mine, Chemical and Energy workers' Federation (EMCEF), Reinhard Reibsch, informed that the procedure to ratify the agreement on the creation of a European negotiation body by national federations member of the EMCEF failed, while leaving the door open for another consultation. As an answer, the group's social relations manager criticised a misunderstanding of the draft agreement and says that "for Sanofi-Aventis, social Europe will happen another way". (Ref. 080067)
The draft agreement for the creation of a European negotiation body (see our article No. 071013) after ratification by the members of the French pharmaceutical group’s EWC, was sent to the EMCEF in mid-December so that this European trade union organization could sign it in the name of all its affiliated organizations present in the group.
