The craze of firms for the European Company status (SE) that came into force on October 8th 2004 is still quite relative. Indeed, out of the 31 creations of SE registered by SEEurope, only five have a significant number of employees. (Ref. 06384)
The five most important companies that have taken the status of SE within the framework of a transformation into SE are (in order of creation) :
1°) Plansee, an austrian firm of the metallurgy sector counting 1341 employees (11-02-2006)
2°) Elcoteq SE, finnish firm of 19600 employees in the electronics sector (subcontractor of Nokia) (1-10-2005)
3°) Alfred Berg SE, swedish bank of 322 employees (30-09-2005)
