In a speech to parliament on 4 March, manpower minister Tan See Leng announced an increase in the retirement age in Singapore from 63 to 64, with effect from 1 July 2026. The re-employment age, for senior citizens who wish to continue working, will be raised from 68 to 69. This decision, which was the subject of a tripartite consensus, follows on from an agreement reached in 2019 with the social partners to raise the retirement and re-employment ages to 65 and 70 by 2030.
