Foreign suppliers for Slovak Huyndai/Kia Motors car factory in Zilina region decided to file a lawsuit against Slovak state after Minister of Economy, Jirko Malcharek, repeated that the government is not going to give them any investment incentives. (Ref. 06233)

The 9 supplier companies insist that these incentives were a part of the investment contract signed with the state. According to the ministry, the reason for denying the incentives is that these companies want to invest in an industrial zone in which – in accordance with the rules for providing investment incentives – it is not possible to grand any state subsidies. The companies were supposed to create 1924 new jobs.
